Jillian’s challenge!
The 1st day of December is here. I started Chix 4 a Cause LTD a 501c3 non-for-profit organization almost 7 years ago to help people that are going through cancer treatment. I have decided I need to bring awareness to as many people as I can to let people know what we are doing here in Southeastern WI.
For the for the next 30 days I am putting out a challenge to everyone I already know, those I kind of know, those I don’t know yet, and of course everyone that is on Facebook.
I am picking the month of December to because it is a time of giving…a time to lend a hand to someone in need.
My goal is to raise $30,000.
Can YOU help me find 100 people to donate $10/day for the next 30 days to help us achieve this goal? Please tell all your relatives, friends, co-workers, owners of companies, or anyone you think can help us raise the money. Please help me.
Thank you…. I will talk to you all soon!
…Blessings ~ Jillian

6th annual Evening of Celebration
Chix 4 a Cause recently hosted their 6th annual Evening of Celebration at West Bend Mutual Insurance Company’s Prairie Center. The event drew the largest attendance ever and was enjoyed by all attendees. A variety of vendors participated, attendees enjoyed good music and food, and participants relished the opportunity to buy raffle tickets and bid on many great items–all for a great cause!
Chix would like to thank West Bend Mutual Insurance Company for its generous grant, Crossing Blues and Edie Carey for lending their voices to enhance the aura of the evening, and the many volunteers who worked to make the event a great success.
Chix is now working on a summer music event for August 21st at Jug’s Hitching Post.

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!
Looking back over 2009, I am reminded that it is not how hard we work or how fast, but it is
what we can do in our hearts that truly matters. This was evidenced by our tremendous success
at the end of last year. In December, the 3rd Annual Shoe Hunt raised over $2800. The following
week, Santa called with a $7000 matching fund challenge. We raised over $10,000 in December
alone!
In December, January, and February, we granted Gifts of Love to 10 more families struggling
through cancer. Each family was so appreciative of our support and thanked us generously.

Dear Chix 4 a Cause Supporter,
Let me start with GOOD NEWS! Our Aug. 15th “Street Party” raised $6,250 —and it was
only our first year! Many thanks to all the volunteers that helped make it happen, especially Kurt
Allison. Plans are already in the works for next year—we’re looking at location options and there
is even talk of possibly adding a poker run . . . so stay tuned!
We are always looking for new ways to help raise funds for our Gift of Love program.
Developing partnerships with different organizations, companies and groups is a great way
to increase support. And, it’s an added bonus when the organizations, companies, and groups
contact us offering their own ideas to support Chix 4 a Cause.

What can I do?

Dear Chix 4 a Cause Supporter,
Five years ago, I never imagined that I would be writing a newsletter, much less having the
opportunity to touch so many lives in such a profound way. It has only been possible because
of you: the Chix 4 a Cause volunteers, committee and board members, and supporters.
In 2004, three of my friends and my grandmother were diagnosed with cancer. When cancer
becomes part of your life, there is so much to deal with that it’s overwhelming. My friends had
many questions, concerns, and fears: “Where do I begin? What do I do? Where can I go for
help? How sick will I be? Will I lose my hair? Will my insurance pay for everything?” As their
friend, I felt helpless. I couldn’t possibly answer these questions. I continuously asked myself,
What can I do?
My answer came one day while I was thinking of the four women in my life
who were dealing with cancer, and I wrote down the words “Chix 4 a Cause.”
